CEZEN

A film made in the humble perfection of Northern NSW for the release of CEZEN BLACK.

Still early that morning
in an autumnal sea
of sweet cane and diesel dust
engine echoes.

Written between lines
of tar brush and charcoal
a laboured ligature
of limp limbs tangle.

Chattering hands preaching
on impossible pages
of lonely words
huddled in with the pupils of woe.

The country station plays soft
coffee stains the song
silver spoons sing serenely
to the sighing serviette
who is yet to be fulfilled
with a mess of adequate capacities.

Embers ash on the smoking ghost
of organised violence
the whistle blows
play on
but I’ve lost control.

Fumbling between skyline and red dirt
the feeling above
to the feeling below
I am still learning the difference.
